For Rachel's Birthday we went camping up at Ice House Reservoir off of Hwy 50. We camped at a place close to Jones Fork. The camp spot was so perfect, with no one around. We got there on Friday night. Saturday we woke up and had our favorite "eggs in a bag" and then set out for our first hike. We went on the Bassi Creek Trail, which was about 5 miles long. AJ did awesome in the back pack. We stopped at one spot for a while which was perfect for AJ, the water was about a foot deep in most areas. He got to throw as many rocks as he wanted in the water. After that hike we went back to camp, ate some lunch and then took a nice long nap! Later, we got up and went hiking up to Bassi falls which was about a mile and a half. In the pictures it doesn't look much like anything, but it really was a beautiful fall. At the top was really cool! There were all sizes of pools that were made from the movement of the river. It was gorgeous on top to see the way the river had formed over the granite slabs. That evening we went back to our campsite and swam in a water hole close by, and then went back to camp and had foil dinners. We had such a wonderful time being together up there in such a beautiful place.
